KIT Virtual Grounds

Our courses KIT has offered trainings in international public health since 1963. We currently offer:Two International Masters Programmes. A wide range of face-to-face short courses and trainings at KIT in Amsterdam. Online courses and virtual trainings on KIT Virtual Grounds. KIT’s courses are known for their practical applicability, the multidisciplinary approach and the interactive, participatory training methods. At KIT, students play an important role in the learning process; they learn not only formally, but also from each other’s experiences of working in different parts of the world, as well as through a process of critical reflection on their own experiences and knowledge. Courses at KIT are followed by health professionals from all over the world. All KIT courses are postgraduate courses, and to be eligible to participate, applicants need to have a number of years of relevant working experience. Students come from a range of disciplinary backgrounds. Typical profiles are doctors, nurses, health managers working in hospitals, ministries of health, NGO’s and other organisations. What they all have in common is their engagement in and commitment towards improving health.The KIT Alumni network is a dynamic community with a global presence; for most, the time at KIT results in lifelong friendships and professional contacts across the world.(E-)Learning and technologies For classroom based courses, course materials are offered digitally, and a virtual platform is used to share audio-visual resources and content. In addition to classroom based courses, KIT offers a number of blended learning (both classroom-based and online) and online courses. For our e-learning courses we are using Moodle Rooms to host our Virtual Learning Environment. We use video lectures, on-line debates, peer review and other interactive methods. Our e-learning courses are especially useful if you want to develop your professional skills, but you cannot leave your job or home for extended periods of time.
